Entertainment Unit

This home theater has shoji doors which slide open to reveal a large projection screen. We also designed and built the tansu below, which has ample storage for all media and components.

The light brown finish on the tansu doors was chosen to blend with the flooring, while the dark brown finish of the casework was a fun way to incorporate the big shoji doors into the unit. The bottom track for these shoji was recessed into the top of the tansu, but with the matching finish, is virtually invisible. The track was needed to help keep the shoji perfectly aligned when slid, as one would be reaching over the cabinet to move the panels.

The result? A wall-to-wall entertainment unit that does not overpower the room yet gives plenty of storage.
